Three steps, about a minute. Nothing is installed on your computer.
Plug the dongle into your computer
Straight into a USB port — not a wall charger, and not a hub if you can
avoid it. Use a cable that transfers data; many USB-C cables and adapters
carry power only, which lights the dongle up without the computer ever
seeing it. The cable that came with your phone is a safe choice.
Download the updater and unzip it
It contains the new software and a small program for each type of
computer. Nothing gets installed.
Double-click the one for your computer
On a Mac: AxisForge-Update-Mac.command
On Windows: AxisForge-Update-Windows.bat
It finds your dongle, updates it, and tells you when it is done — usually
in under a minute. Then reconnect in the app as usual.
On a Mac you may see a warning the first time, because the file came from
the internet. Right-click it and choose Open instead of
double-clicking, and it will run.
